| The Second Squad Barracks houses the different offices and living quarters of the Shinigami of said squad. When Lieutenant Omaeda was still holding that position he used his own private fortune to reconstruct a lot of the barracks for a more luxurious feeling. Its even said that the offices have automatic doors and heated floors, though that may or may not be true. Outside of the barracks you can find a hot spring dedicated for relaxing the squad from long days. Along with these much deserved features the squad grounds holds the Nest of Maggots, the prison that holds dangerous Shinigami who have brought harm to their comrades. | |

| With the fresh, new flower decorating her soft blonde hair, Hitomi sprinted up the way to the barracks. Her black sleeves flapped behind her as she took bouchy strides, completely carefree now. She didn't care what looked she got from the members of her own squad. They knew better than to believe the false impressions her all around small frame gave and if the captain was ever away for whatever reason they'd see the face of a vengeful warrior who believed in making everything, especially revenge, something spectacular, usually in the form of some embarassing prank they would never be able to live down. So when the lieutenant passed by anyone they would simply bow in reflect, accepting a cheerful wave from the blonde without a word of the mess of her face.
Hitmoi slowed once she reached the actual building. Now she just walked, arms swaying back and forth at her sides as she walked around it, heading towards the springs. She doubted anyone would be present there at this time of day. Hitomi worked her way around the land of her squad until she reached the edge of a pool. Kneeling down she looked into the water, not disappointed. Her suspicions had been proven true as she looked at her reflection. Wasting no time she dipped her hand down into the water, cupping some withing it before bringing her hand up to her face and wiping the ink away. Thankfully she was successful after repeating this procress a few times though her cheek was left slightly red from the somewhat harsh scrubbing she'd done with her hand.
Once she didn't have to worry about her cheek, Hitomi sat back, finding a tree ever so conviently behind her. She leaned against it, thin legs spread out infront of her. The sky reflected in matching blue eyes as they gazed up to it, finding shapes in the puffy white clouds. She smiled peacefully, enjoying this quiet time. She couldn't forget others were fighting in the Human World but then again couldn't forget the enjoyable time here.

| Blue eyes moved from the clouds abover her, falling on the actual buildings of the barracks. She bit her lip, wondering if she should get back to work now. She had gotten her flower like she had told herself she would. She had gotten her face cleaned up so she didn't look foolish. She had even managed to have some fun with some guys out in the sereitei, guys who were likely still cursing over her which only made Hitomi giggle softly. She could still see their gawking faces perfectly. It was almost too good to be true. "Maybe that's enough fun. I'd hate to get in trouble for slacking" Slacking and getting in trouble for it were very different tings. She'd only be scolded or punished in some way if she was caught. If she got back before her captain realized anything it would be fine afterall.
Hitomi stood, raising her arms to stretch before they lowered again, swiping across the black fabric of her uniform to wipe away any dirt that might have gathered there from her sitting on the ground. Turning her head quickly, her long blonde bangs swished out of her view momentarily, soon finding its way to softly fall over her right eye. She didn't pay it any mind, turning in a leaping skip. When she landed on the ground facing the opposite direction, Hitomi set out in a lively stride, almost skipping toward the barrack building. Her short trimmed hair bounched with her steps that made her seem even more like a child that she wasn't. Her petite and slender frame added to that affect and it was almost annoying at times. Though at times being underestimated was a benefit. But for now she just took her appearance as it was, looking as cute and innocent as she possibly could as she waved to those she passed by, heading inside to check if anything still needed to be done, assuming she hadn't been disappointed by her squad. Surely one would have checked in her office and seen the note she left.

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?" |
