Forest of Menos

The Forest of Menos is an area below the surface of Hueco Mundo's desert where the average Hollow hide from the Arrancar. Gillian and Adjuchas-class Menos dwell here, along with possibly Vasto Lorde-class Menos. The forest is filled with large trees made of a silvery quartz substance. These trees extend to the surface and dot the landscape of the desert in Hueco Mundo.

Kalanu appeared in the forest of Menos, he stood a full 6ft tall his jet black eyes trailed the quart substance trees, before he could take a intake of air he would leap into the air gripping a tree branch, gliding smoothly across the silver branch he spirals up into the air in a slight twist of his body. while in the air he senses the menos not to far away, Lanu with a slight smile on his face landed in a decent crouch on the tree. "well i guess entertainment is near..hmm not many though sadly." standing to his full 6ft he set his hand on his zanpakuto with a slight tilt to the right of his head causing the cracking sound of his bones, he releases a soft sigh of tension as if it flooded from his being leaving him stress free.

Kali had Sonidoed across the deserts of Hueco Mundo, leaving the confies of Las Noches. It really wasn't rare for him to do so. Due to that fact he was sure it wouldn't make a difference. He may have been high in rank but he was far from an active member.

What had brought him here was a more than familiar presence. Standing at the floor of the forest it took him all but a minute to locate to place where that presence was at. With the flick of his right foot he had vanished in another sonido, his form becoming visible in a tree branch just one above where Kalanu was standing now.

"Why is it not surprising you chose to come here of all places?"

The espada looked down to his sibling, his near glowing eyes slightly hidden behing strands of the blackest hair. His face was almost emotionless looking other than the slightest upturn of his normally stick straight lips. He wasn't social at all but Kalanu was different than most afterall and there was an undying closeness he felt to him through brotherhood even if they had often competed.

" i had a feeling you'd find me..always has" turning he then looks upward to spot his sibling standing on the branch above his own, the look on his face had no emotion to it. in seconds he leaped upwards onto the same branch as Kali stood, shoulder to shoulder he sets his hands upon his waist ina firm grip.

"well it is a boring day today..i came to watch the menos devour each other..its entertaining...sadly no beauty in their blood.." Lanu shook his head for a moment, the strands of hair falling over his forehead and down to his eyes he gave a side sweep of his head causing his hair to move lightly from his view of the menos, but soon broke off his gaze to direct his attention to his brother Kali.

"You're not hard to find" he pointed out in a smooth voice that was so rarely used or heard. His eyes followed his brother's movements and he wasn't surprised by what little amount of personal space remained between them now. He didn't try to step away either, knowing would do little good anyway.

"What a shame..." his tone held the slightest hint of sarcasm. He didn't get the beauty that Kalanu saw in blood. It wasn't ugly to him persay but not something to be so heavily praised either. He was sure Lanu knew of their different views on it so he never tried to hide it. And the look his shimmering eyes held now, one of utter distaste, proved the prior fact.

He turned his head to look into the black eyes of his sibling, reaching up to brush his own hair back out of his eyes though the strands would return in a few moments and he knew it. "The days have been rather boring lately. That I agree with" Even though he did little to nothing daily anyway the days were begining to roll together and he'd been bored for ages now. He'd even considered heading out to the world of the living without notifying anyone just to simply have some change of pace. If he did though he would have had to find Kalanu first. That'd be the one person he would tell of a reason for his random disappearances.

crouching down he focuses his gaze back to the menos seeing very few standing now, he took into thought ever word spoken by his brother. he knew they had differences in what beauty is and he respected that, it was simply another thing that he took into mental thought that makes him and his brother different depsite their actions in the past of challenging one another.

"well considering the dissappearance of lord Aizen, i'd say heading to the world of the living would make a good...vacation..dont you think?"
he brung his right hand to grasp his hairless chin, caressing his chin he trails his jaw line, letting his bangs flow freely over his eyes he inhales deeply letting his lungs feel to a point they couldnt fill anymore then exhales sharply dreading the constant day to day routine of..nothingness and at this point even someone like him it was driving him towards insanity.

"Seems like your source of entertainment is starting to fade" Kali had barely paid any mind to the menos though when his brother looked over he took note that their numbers had greatly diminished. In the back of his mind he wondered just how long any of them would survive anyway. He just looked back to his crouching brother, again nearly forgetting the menos.

"I was having similiar thoughts to be honest. A vacation wouldn't hurt" Almost in unison with Kalanu he took in a deep breath, holding it for just a moment before releasing it in a long sighing exhale. He lowered himself down, sitting comfortably on the branch they were perched on. The feathers along his coat ruffled together as he moved, a few breaking loose and slowly fluttering down to the ground below. He shook his arms to move the sleeves that covered his hands so he could loosely grip the limb with long, almost bony fingers, lengthened by darkly colored nails.

"Peraps a short trip would do some good" He could tell Kalunu couldn't take many more quiet days in las noches and if he thought about it for just the briefest moment he knew he himself was in the similiar state of mind. "We should just go. No one would stop us" he reasoned.

"well whenever your ready kali..is fine by me."
Lanu stood running his fingers through his hair the black colored nails resembling his hair to the point in shade wise he would then stand, the cracking of his knees as he relieved the pressure off his bones. Lanu then looked to his brother Kali and gave a slight nod of his head.
"what would we do there..unless we run into a soul reaper the vacation wont be as fun. despite their annoying rants they are a few onces i'd like to have as a pet..but nothing compares to my raven...Well shall be."
standing at the edge of the tree he feels the breeze brush his hair lightly before jumping he looks to his brother with a slight smile not seem in years before falling towards the ground, while heading towards the ground he opens a garganta under him.

"If you were waiting for me to be ready you're running behind" He looked up to Kalunu, making no move to rise himself. He couldn't help the slightest roll of the eye when his brother brought up keeping a soul reaper as a pet of some sort. Birds were good pets, not other beings that happened to be their worst enemies of all things.

"If we run into any soul reapers you're not taking one to be your pet Lanu" he stated plainly with a miniscule shake of his head. "You wouldn't take care of it anyway. Then you'll just have to rush back and take the time and trouble to find a replacement"

Taking in that smile that was rare but never forgotten, Kali watched as his sibling fell toward the ground, much faster than the feathers had earlier. He was right behind him, pushing away from the branch wit his arms. Long black hair twisted together in silky waves and feathers rustled together with the wind the fall created. Kali himself though remained unphazed, his black marked face remained blank as he plummeted down to the garganta Kalanu had already opened.

Coming into the forest far from the others a female arrancar with long white hair was dragging a red haired arrancar behind her. Icy blue eyes scanned the area quickly for a moment before she released his hand, moving a bit away from him before she turned around on her heels and faced towards him. Giving him a small smile she started to speak in a calm matter. " To cure your boredom, we shall have a small spar. Nothing ultra amazing. Just using our blades and strengh. Nothing else. Is that okay with you?" Luna asked as she was curious if her fracción would go along with this little spar. It wasn't just to cure his boredom but hers as well and to test herself if she was still able to fight, seeing its been awhile since she has last fought anyone. The wind whistle through the trees and rolled between the two as her icy blue eyes licked onto him.

Luka didn’t look even the slightest bit apprehensive as he was dragged into the Forest of Menos. Though the place was filled with hollows, Gillian, and even adjuchas, he knew that he had nothing to worry about. Being an arrancar, he was far more powerful than the lower classes of hollow, and it was commonly known that the hollows here revered anyone who had become an arrancar. He didn’t even bother looking around. He knew for a fact that there was nobody else around; that much was easy enough to tell. Once Luna released his hand, he too stepped back a little. Upon hearing Luna’s request, Luka slid into a loosely defensive stance. His left foot was positioned behind his right, while his right hand reached up to grasp the hilt of his zanpakuto, Garra de Acero, the hilt of which was wrapped in ragged red cloth.

“Sure, I have no problem with that.” he said in a smooth tone. Though he hid this fact, he was excited now; it had been a while since he had participated in any form of fight. Though it felt wrong to point his blade at Luna, he wasn’t exactly worried. He knew he wouldn’t actually be able to hurt her, for she was much more powerful than himself.

“Ladies first.” he said in a slightly humorous tone, waiting on Luna to make an offensive move.

Seeing him agree made her grin slyly before she spoke again " The winner will be the first one to knock the others blade out of there hand" she stated as she moved her feet apart a bit as her left hand went down to the hilt of Destino de Dielo. Grabbing the hilt tightly she pulled out the snow white katanna and pointed it down towards the ground. It felt a bit award pointing it towards her fracción, that she cares for but thought of It as training. Closing her eyes lightly for a moment she let the breeze comb through her hair as a smirk showed up on her face. " How nice of you" she said calmly before she moved her left foot back a bit and.leaned down a bit on her right leg. Opening her eyes quickly she pushed off the ground and lunged towards Luka head on. Moving slughtly to the right as she got close enough she swong her blade on an upwards angle towards his right side holding back a bit so if the hit landed it wouldn't do much damage to him.

“All right.” Luka said in simple response to Luna’s statement before pulling on the hilt of Garra de Acero, unsheathing an oddly-proportioned, grey-bladed sword. It was only three feet long, but the blade was a whole fifteen centimetres wide. In essence, it had the bulky proportions of a meat cleaver. If it weren’t for the black triangular guard, one wouldn’t think that it was a sword at all. He waited for Luna to make her move, whatever it would be. He didn’t really evaluate her movements, there was no point since it was only a spar. He tensed up in anticipation once Luna lunged towards him. Once she was close enough and swung at him, Luka quickly whipped his large blade out to the right to intercept Luna’s slash before it hit him. Since his blade was most likely heavier than Luna’s, it helped him stave off her blade, though it still wasn’t easy. He could tell from the force behind her swing that she was holding back a lot. Due to the way that Luka had stopped Luna’s blade, his own zanpakuto was now right on top of hers. This was a good thing for him, and he planned to make use of it. With a sudden burst of strength, Luka pushed down on his own blade, sending that force into Luna’s sword. He was attempting to drive both blades downwards, which would leave Luna open for a moment. If he succeeded, he would then raise Garra de Acero and slash it down towards her right shoulder. Of course, he wasn’t swinging with his full strength, in the case that she somehow wasn’t able to dodge outright.

With the burst of strength from Luka, her blade lowered slightly towards the ground but before he could strike her she used more force to swing her Destino de Dielo upwards in attempt to knock his blade away from her. Once get sword was free she would jump back a few feet away from him before she lunged towards him again, moving towards his same side once again, using the same movement. Tho this time when she was seconds away from slashing her sword upwards towards his torso, she suddenly sondio out of sight and wad instantly at his left side swinging her blade in the same motion towards his torso. Her eyes were watching his movments a bit careful but not ad much as she would in real fight since this was only a small friendly spar.

Luka had a slightly frustrated look in his eyes after his blade got knocked away, but he came nowhere close to letting go of it. He quickly recovered and moved Garra de Acero back into a defensive position across his body. Even though it was highly unlikely that he would win this spar, he felt that he had to try at least. He jumped back a couple feet to gain some distance from Luna after his blade was knocked back. Moments after, when she lunged towards him, he noticed that she was using the same attack pattern.

There’s no way that she would try the same move again . . . I mean, I’m not that stupid.

Luka thought, not raising his blade to defend from the right like Luna probably thought he would. He hoped he was right, because if he wasn’t, then he would get hit by an attack that he could have dodged. Though his instincts screamed at him to, he didn’t move even when her blade was swinging towards his right side.

“I knew it!” he hissed triumphantly as Luna disappeared. Instinctively, he swung Garra de Acero right out to his left, having felt her reiatsu rapidly appear there. He swung it blindly, not even looking over, since he knew he had to be quick to block. He heard a metallic clang and felt the weight of another sword hitting his own and looked over at Luna with a smug expression. Before another second could pass, Luka used sonido and disappeared. I was the first time he had used sonido in a while so this one was relatively fast compared to one that an arrancar would use after fighting for a while. He reappeared directly above Luna with Garra de Acero held high above his head. In what could be called an aerial assault, Luka swung the dark grey blade down towards Luna’s entire body. I seemed like a vicious tactic, but in truth, Luka wasn’t really getting as carried away as it seemed; the full extent of his attack was minor slashes and torn clothing, that was it.

Once the sound of metal clashing against each other through the forest her icy blue eyes looked right up to were look was before he vanished from sight. Seeing that he sonidoed she glances around for a moment as she moved her feet into a denfensive stance. Once she noticed his reiatsu above her head. Using her instincts, she lifted Destino de Dielo above her head holding it on such an angle that there blades would clash together. " Nice try Luka" if there blades connected she would force upwards on her blade forcing him off her blade and then would sonido to his right side, holding her blade on a downwards left angle she would swing upwards aiming to slash lightly across his stomach.

Oh, come on. . . .

Luka thought, frustrated with himself still not having been able to land a single hit. The blade of his zanpakuto clashed violently with Luna’s, sending bright sparks off of both blades. He was about to draw his blade back when Luna pushed him backwards with her own. Mildly surprised, he let himself fall back towards the ground. As he was about to land on his feet, he saw Luna sonido again. He could not react accordingly, because he was still in midair, and ended up getting a shallow gash across his stomach. His hierro took the brunt of the attack, so it was nowhere near serious. He felt it, but he paid no mind to it. One who hesitated over something in battle would always lose. His feet touched the ground shortly after; as soon as they did, Luka jumped forward towards Luna at a surprising speed. He was attempting to ram into her to knock her off balance, and with the short distance between them, and the fact that Luna would likely still be in mid-swing, it was highly unlikely that she would be able to avoid his charge.

When her hit had landed on Luka, she watched were it landed hopping she didn't do any real damage to him. Worrying about that and still in mid-swing, Luna had no real chance of doodgeing him as he he came running towards her. Once Luka tamed into her she pretty much lost her balance from the sudden force colliding with her but before she actually did fall on the ground, Luna managed to do a quick back flip away frim him, regaining her balance. Sliding back a bit on her feet, she lowered her sword hand as her icy blue locked on Luka, letting her spiky white bangs fall into her eyes, causing a shadow to cast over her face. Not soon after she lunged towards him, holding her blade on a downwards angel. Getting close enough she lifted the blade and made it look like she was going to slash him across his stomach but instead sonido at the last second and appeared at his left still in the same striking position but once again she sonido again this time to his right and carried the swing through, aiming to cut his side, holding back enough not to do to much damage.

Luka regained his balance quickly before he could fall along with Luna and jumped a couple feet to distance himself once more. He fell into a slight crouch as Luna managed not to fall from his charge; he had a feeling that she would attack him head-on again. He waited silently for her to make her move and tightened his grip on the hilt of his zanpakuto. Based on Luna’s attack pattern, he had formulated an idea. Since she liked to switch places a lot, he had no way of telling where she would really attack, unless he guessed like he had the last time; and that wasn’t a good habit to get into, unless you wanted to die stupidly. Instead of trying to intercept Luna’s attack from any one direction, Luka spun around, completing a full 360 degree turn, holding his blade out at the same time. Since Luna’s attack was once again coming from the side, his blade would likely deflect her slash and had the possibility of knocking her zanpakuto out of her hand. Since the spin put more velocity into Luka’s swing, it also had more force behind it.

With Luka's sword clashing with hers as the collided, Luna was trying to figure a good way to counter this without dropping her blade or hurting him to much. Changing her footing, Luna forced back against his blade locking the two together, her eyes traveled up the blades and onto her fracción. A sly grin crept across her mouth as her eyes stayed locked on him, at the same moment she lowered down on her right leg slightly to give her a bit of an edge. In a swift and graceful movement she unlocked the blades and song her left foot towards the back if Luka's knees with enough force to force him down to his knees and maybe do some mild damage, that is if the kick landed.

Luka stopped dead in his spin as Luna forced him to a standstill. He stood there for a moment, staring back at her. When he saw her crouch down a little, he figured that she was about to attack again and wasted no time in reacting. He pushed off the ground quickly and jumped up, landing a couple metres back away from Luna before she could execute her kick. It was a simple way to dodge, but it worked. Now with a slight distance from his opponent, Luka raised his sword towards Luna, as he had been holding it to the side before. Seconds later, he used sonido, disappearing in a flash. In that same instant, he would reappear right behind Luna, swinging his cleaver-like blade towards Luna’s sword arm in a wide arc. If it hit, it would only make a minor laceration, but Luka was really trying to get her to drop her zanpakuto, as was the purpose of this spar.

Luna grumbled quietly to herself as Luka jumped up, dodging her attack. She watched his moments slightly and when he came to her aide swinging his blade at her, she twisted her body in such a way that his sword only left a small gash across her bare shoulder. Using his closeness to an advantage she would twist around and use her free hand to reach out and grab his hand and attempted to throw him down over her shoulder onto the ground. She wasn't going to use much force but just enough that maybe the shock would cause him to drop his blade.

Luka tried to pull his hand back away from Luna, but it was too late for him to react properly and he was sent over her shoulder, towards the ground. He gasped a little once he hit the ground, getting the breath knocked out of him, and since he wasn’t expected a tactic quite like that, he was surprised enough to let go of his zanpakuto. He glared at the retreating weapon as it clattered across the ground to come to a stop a couple feet away from him. He was reaching out towards it, but then he let his hand drop, acknowledging that he had lost this time.

“Great.” he said with a bitter scowl, glaring up at the roof of the cavern from where he was lying on the ground. Though there was barely any chance of him winning, he was still stung by his loss.

Luna smirked when her tactic had actually worked on Luka, tho she did feel a bit bad for doing something like that to him. She moved a bit and stop infront of his head as her icy blue eyes stalled down to his eyes. " That wad a good match. Are you okay?" She asked slightly worried that maybe she went a bit overboard since it was suppose to just be a sword fight. Moving towards his right side she held out her right hand to help him off the ground as a small gentle smile formed on her face. " Are you still bored?" She asked a bit curious if he wad bored still or not. Luna's long white hair blew gently to the side as she kept her hand out towards Luka wondering to herself if maybe next time she should change the spar rules a bit so he would have more of an advantage against her. Tho she had to admit he had some real talent with the blade that could easy surpass her skill.

“I’m fine.” Luka replied, his bitter expression vanishing. If he took a simple loss too harshly, he would only look petty. Embarrassed that Luna appeared to be worrying about him, Luka sat up quickly and got up on his own. He had already lost the spar, he didn’t want to make himself look even weaker by being helped up; he wasn’t badly hurt anyways. The slash across his abdomen had been minor to begin with, and was already healed for the most part.

“Well now that the spar is over, I guess I am. The thought of going back there and lounging around again just sucks.” Luka said in response to Luna’s question about him being bored.

“But, oh well. That’s just how it is.” Luka said with an exasperated sigh, turning towards where he knew the exit out of the Forest of Menos would be. He had accepted long ago that being affiliated with Las Noches would grant him a boring life. He had power over most hollows, but he never got to use it. There was no point really.
