Captain Shuuhei Hisagi Vs Kenshin Daichi

A metal snake like entity would be seen sliding through the trees seeming to float in mid air. The snake its self had no eyes only two spikes sitting upon the base of his head. As it slithered through the trees it would stop an open its mouth showing its fangs as it hiss a loud pitch. Retracting its body through each tree with a never ending body it would finally reach its point in which it came from. A right palm would be extened showing the long body of the metal snake coming from. The head of the snake would slide back into the palm an the skin would close behind it making no markings in where it hand come from. Lowering the right arm a tall figure of a man could be seen. He had short spikey brown hair in which moved within the wind softly. He wore a pair of small framed glasses in which protected his Violet eyes an also allowed him to see properly. Having a soft kind smile upon his face making his angelic facial features look amazing. He wore a white espada jacket an a pair of black pants, [Continue]

Along his left hand was a silver skull in which rested upon his middle finger. His left hand sat upon the handle of his Zanpakuto, upon the palm of his laft hand in which was hidden was the number 8 that told his ranking among the Espada's. Completing his look was a snake like bone fragment that rested along the side of his left eye curving around it. Stepping forward with his right leg first he would walk out into the middle of the forest an stop. His back towards the east, his right hand would move down to his pocket an slide into it. Looking around the area he would await his opponent's to arrive.

Squad Nine Captain Shuuhei Hisagi had been on a guard duty of sorts, having been sent down to the Living World upon the Head Captains orders of a war time-esque crisis situation. More and more Arrancar had been making their presence known and causing mass destruction within the town of Karakura, killing innocent lives and devouring many souls of the inhabitants who were unaware what had happened to them; Blissfully oblivious to the danger which had entered their life before shamelessly taking it away, the humans who never saw it coming would never have a true chance to understand just what it was that ended their existence. There wasn't anything left of them but an empty and bloodied vessel that once housed a soul, once the Arrancar had absorbed the soul it became a permanent part of a ruthless killing machine who then moved on to it's next victim. Forever forced to be attached to this unforgiving creature until a Shinigami would destroy their Arrancar host, ending the destructive path of the one slain and in turn saving a plethora of lives in the process.

Since this was like a war time situation the young captain was permitted the removal of the Gentei Reiin, or Soul Limiting-Symbol, which restricted his overall power by an even eighty-percent while in the World of the Living; This meant that Shuuhei was at his full power level, able to use every last ounce of his reiatsu should it come down to it. Though he hoped it wouldn't he knew odds are it most likely would, recalling his fighting from the Winter War he remembered just how drained he had become from all the fighting. The Winter War...It was a hard time for him to say the least, not because of all the fighting in general but because of who he had to fight; He had to fight his former captain and mentor Kaname Tousen, one of the three captains who had betrayed the Soul Society and someone Shuuhei held in high regard. Even now the wound of Tousen's deflection felt rather fresh, like he had recently been slashed open by the sharp blade of an enemy and then had salt maliciously poured into the gaping wound. It had affected him greatly but he forced himself to overcome the engulfing depression and carry on for the sake of those who still needed him, shaking himself from all those heavy feelings and soldiering forward.

Quickly Shuuhei realized he had become overwhelmed by his thoughts, the night had been quiet and therefore allowed him to enter the deepest realms of his mind; Getting lost within the maze of thoughts which would have his head spinning if he allowed himself to get lost further, with a subtle and gentle shake of his head he cleared the thoughts from his mind as though he were erasing a drawing he had made on an etch-a-sketch. When he roused from his thoughts he noticed a presence had made itself known, it was a strong energy which alerted Shuuhei that a high ranking Arrancar had come to Karakura. He cursed at himself since he knew not how long it had been there, having been distracted by his own troubled mind he didn't know if it had been there before he became lost or if it had just recently made itself known. He felt a feeling most would probably laugh at a warrior for having, that feeling was fear; The fear of his enemy's strength and the fear of the strength Shuuhei might have to use to defeat the one who held the opposing power, he always feared not only his enemies power but his own as well. Knowing that if he didn't have this fear he would most likely succumb to the cocky attitude he had seen others carry with them in their battles, not that Shuuhei wasn't sure of his abilities, he just knew better than to underestimate his opponent and his own destructive powers as well. He considered fear necessary for battle, since he felt that the fear kept him sharper and more alert than most of his comrades; Though whenever he would be asked and he explained the questioner would look upon him with confusion, causing Shuuhei to just drop the conversation since he knew he couldn't adequately explain his views well to others.

Shuuhei had no trouble locating the exact spot the Arrancar was in, sensing him deep in the middle of the forest but the thing that was odd to him was that it wasn't moving; It had been still for as long as he knew of it's existence, as though it was waiting for someone to find it. That was odd to him since he had never truly known an enemy to just sit there and do nothing but he wasn't going to complain, it made them easier to get to and he wanted to get there soon before it changed its mind and decided to move away from its current location. He took a deep breath and with a burst of speed he shunpoed off towards his targets location, his medium length jet black hair was blown back by the wind as it rushed past him while he was speeding through the sky. He was nervous as any one would be before a fight, worrying about the possible injuries he would gain during the battle but he tried not to let it affect him. He was more worried than anything though, he didn't want his beloved who was given a different set of orders than him to receive news of his demise; That was one of his biggest fears above most anything else, the thought of what would happen to Kizomaru should he be killed in the line of duty. He knew how it would crush her and the thought of her so distraught made his heart ache, he cursed his vivid imagination as it painted the perfect picture of her depression. Once more shaking himself from his thoughts when he had arrived ten feet in front of and five feet above what he saw was another male, he narrowed his slate gray, almost silver eyes in a threatening and strong glare; His right hand quickly moving to the hilt of Kazeshini which sat on his left hip, gripping the handle with such strength."What are you doing here?" Shuuhei asked, his voice was loud enough for the other man to hear and carried an unwavering strength in its tone. He wanted to know why this specific Arrancar had come to the living world, though the reason didn't matter as his orders were to eliminate any enemies he should find.

Kenshin was a little lost within his own thoughts as the other male traveled towards him. He would wonder if this world was as peaceful as it looked an wondered why the humans would destroy such lovely things such as the trees an animals just for them to place their living quarters. Feeling the spiritual pressure from the other male come closer he would come out of his thoughts upon hearing the question that he was given. Looking over the male he could tell from the first glance that this shinigami was a captain among his ranks. Not answering the question he would sonido up towards the male appearing only 3 feet in front of him. Lifting his right hand from his pocket he would fix his glasses a little an then extend his hand half way towards the male. "Hello I'm Kenshin the 8th espada. May i ask who you are?" A warm smile was on his face as he spoke to the male. Knowing that his actions would most likely confussed the Shinigami since most Arrancars were known for their violent ways among those who cross them.

Instant suspicion was what Shuuhei first felt from the actions of the other male, wondering why he seemed to be so nice towards someone who had been given the order to destroy him should he be able. His eyes narrowed into a distrustful glare and his hand didn't move from the hilt of his zanpakuto, making no attempts to shake hands with the Arrancar for fear it might have been a trap; An attempt to catch Shuuhei and use the grip to his advantage to possibly throw the Shinigami, most would call this paranoia but he called it thinking like the enemy. Knowing he himself would use such a position to attempt to gain the upper hand in a battle, so there was no way he would offer his free limb to Kenshin; He would however grant the same courtesy the Espada did when he gave him his name and rank, he didn't have a reason not to. So he opened his mouth to reply, keeping his guard up at all times just in case the other male made an attempt to attack. "Shuuhei Hisagi, Captain of Squad Nine." He replied, simple and too the point. His voice held strong as the words left his mouth, his tone was deep and smooth; As though he were speaking in a silken tongue, that tone could become dark in an instant if he were provoked. It would loose any soothing qualities it may have had and take on the sound of fear, as if the vibrations from his throat were trying to intimidate whomever had made the mistake of pushing him too far.

He wasn't satisfied with the information he had been provided with, Shuuhei still wanted an answer to his question despite the fact it wouldn't change his orders any. The distance between the two was too close in his opinion, to further display his distrust he jumped back and added a distance of five feet; He didn't really realize his body language was giving him away nor did he care, he figured the Espada knew that he would not be convinced of anything more than the fact that he was supposed to take him down. He decided he would repeat himself, he was really hoping for any kind of information that would give him insight on why so many Arrancar were showing themselves in the Human World; Just anything that would give reason to the chaos and destruction, the loss of so many innocent lives that had so much going for them and he wasn't going to take silence as an answer."I will ask again, why are you here?" Shuuhei asked once more, the tone in his voice demanded an answer from the Espada before him. Gripping tightly onto the hilt of Kazeshini he prepared to defend himself just in case, his guard never falling and he had no intention of lowering it any time soon.

Smirking at the fact the shinigami didnt show the same amount of respect that he had given him. Before he had lowered his right hand the head of the metal snake would push its self through the skin of his palm an seemed to stare at the shinigami as he jumped back. Closing his hand making the snake slide back into his palm he would lower it an place it back in his hand. Hearing the same question being asked once again Kenshin's smirk an smile would fade away quickly his whole feature would change quickly showing that he was more serious. "Im here to watch this world blossem within chaos just like many of the others that have come. We leave the actual chaos to the higher ranks though so that your kind would chase after them while the rest of us feed upon the humans. But it would seem that I have been caught." As the words left his mouth he would lift his left hand away from his Zanpakuto up to his glasses removing them. Soon after he would use his white espada jacket to clean the lens.

"Does this answer work for you my friend?" He would say calmly as he continued to clean the lens of his glasses. Once done he would place them back upon his face hiding his violet eyes behind them once more. Lowering his left hand back down to the hilt of his Zanpakuto he would grip it an slowly remove it from its sheath. Once it was fully out of its sheath he would hold it out in front of him using only his left hand as his right remained within his pocket. "Now i believe your here to put a stop to my crimes. So shall we begin?" He said with a calm soft tone.

His eyes watched as Kenshin drew his zanpakuto, the sound of the metal sliding against the hard surface of the sheath echoed throughout the empty air; Shuuhei felt his heart begin to beat just a little faster as the adrenaline started pumping through his system, the sound and sight indicated the beginning of a battle. If one looked close enough at the captain they would see his pupils dilated slightly, the fear of the fight was fully beginning to settle in on him like a dust settling upon the wooden surface of an unused desk. This was it, there was truly no other way around it now; In a short while both men would be clashing blades as they tried to end the others life, a battle to the death if it really had to be and Shuuhei had no intention of letting his life end here tonight. No, he would use every trick his mind could offer to stay alive and put an end to the Arrancar's horrid antics. He held his narrowed glare at the other male, his eyes showed determination to end the battle as quickly as was possible; Never having enjoyed fighting he'd always try and end any scuffle he found himself in with the speed lightning held as it cracked through the sky during a severe summer storm, tonight was no exception and he already began thinking about the possible different ways which he could do so.

Shuuhei drew his zanpakuto almost at the same time Kenshin did, as if he were able to predict the exact time the blade would leave it's shelter and mimicked the timing almost perfectly. Rather than hold it out in front of him he held the blade off to his right side, his right foot shifted slightly so that it was in front of his left which had dropped back about two inches; Bending his body slightly downward though it wasn't all that noticeable unless one spent quite a long time examining him, he had taken his fighting stance and was now ready to make his first move. Shuuhei didn't feel it necessary to reply to Kenshin as it served no real purpose other than to drag out the inevitable, he had already gotten an answer to his question so there was no reason to continue the conversation.

Already in his battle stance he didn't need to make any further adjustments to his body, so he took the first move that came to mind and made it happen; First he pushed off the reishi in the air and propelled himself only two feet higher than he was before he used his shunpo to appear to vanish, the instant he did so he hid his reiatsu which was the next step in his plan; Not wanting his enemy to know where he had gone, it was a perfect way to throw the Arrancar off and possibly gain the upper hand. When he made himself visible again he was three feet behind Kenshin, his reiatsu could be felt when reappeared as well but he was hoping that the other male had been caught off guard. He lifted his blade and held it horizontally in front of him, then he drew back and attempted to land a horizontal slash along Kenshin's back which would span from under one shoulder blade to the other in length should the full force be taken, leaving a rather large cut which would be deep and rather painful for the Espada every time he would move and aggravate the wound he would receive if the blade landed.

As Kenshin awaited his opponents reaction from his actions he would close his eyes feeling the soft breeze blowing through his short spikey brown hair. His thoughts ran to the fact that he may lose his life today an to never feel the this cool air that blows against his skin. Smiling he would reopen his violet eyes watching the male vanish including his reiatsu. Feeling the reiatsu reappear back behind him he would quickly place his sword behind him to block the up coming attack towards his back. Using his own sword as a shield, As the males sword slammed into his he would quickly react. Using sonido he would seem to vanish along with his reiatsu, Reappearing 3 feet to the side of the male he would send a round house kick towards the males exposed chest. If connected it would send the male flying down towards the ground with enough force to cause minor damage to the male but it would cause a small crater within the ground. But if his attack would miss he would push off the ground with his left foot[Conitinue]

Causing a backflip, landing 13 feet away from the shinigami he would place his sword back out in front of him to be ready for the following attacks just incase his first attack had missed. But if didnt he would stand there watching the shinigami hit the ground below.

He cursed within his own mind when his attack was blocked, having hoped to do the damage he wanted to with that powerful swing. When he saw the Arrancar vanish as he did only moments before his guard went far past full strength, his slate gray eyes darted around as they searched for Kenshin; Watching and waiting for the moment he would reappear and make his move, shifting his weight to his left foot and relaxing his form so it would be easier for him to do whatever he felt the situation called for and avoid the attack. When Kenshin made himself known Shuuhei quickly turned to face him, using his free left hand to block the kick; His open palm stopped the Espada's attack in it's tracks with ease, showing almost no signs of strain as he blocked the full force of the kick. It did push him back slightly but that's why he shifted his weight, so the force from blocking wouldn't move him too far from his current location. His hand rested against the other male's leg in a flat position, he was planning to use such a close range to his enemy to his advantage.

Shuuhei rotated his hand so that it was underneath the Espada's leg before he pushed the leg away from his person, it wasn't an attack so much as a part of the way he had stopped the attack; It would do no harm to Kenshin nor much of anything really, but he was hoping the time it took the other male to recover from a failed kick would give him an upper hand and provide an opening which he could use to strike. Knowing rather well how to fight in hand to hand combat he knew it could be hard to recover from a blocked punch or kick though the true difficulty depended upon how skilled the fighter was, judging from the strength behind the kick he knew his opponent wasn't quite as skilled as he was so he was rather confident in his next moves probability that it would land. He assessed the distance between himself and his opponent and saw that they were pretty close together, since the both of them struck out at the other from a distance of three feet.

Shuuhei took his sword hand and let it relax so the hilt slipped slightly from his grip, though before it had the chance to fall fully he recovered his weapon and held it closer to the butt end of the handle; He twisted his zanpakuto so that the blunt end of the blade was facing his own torso and the serrated edge was facing Kenshin and shunpoed forward to close the distance between them so that only a few inches remained between the two of them, wanting to be close to his opponent during his recovery time to take full advantage of what time he was open. With a quick flick of his arm Shuuhei's blade was heading in a vertical path towards Kenshin's torso, he was attempting an upwards vertical slash from the other male's waist to his chest. If the attack landed, as he was hoping he would do seeing the amount of space between the two and the recovery time of his opponent, the Espada would be left with a deep wound which wouldn't be fatal but rather painful should the full force of the attack make contact with Kenshin's body.

Seeing that his round house kicked was blocked he would smirk an watched as the shinigami moved. Seeing the next attack come towards him he tryed quickly to regain his balance to block the up coming attack. Shifting his body he would lower himself as he leaned back a little taking a minor cut along his right cheek to the edge of his eye as he lowered him self enough to avoid the slash from slicing deeply into his chest. Once the blade had past he would rise just a little stepping forward towards Shuuhei . As he did he would send a side slash towards the males left side. The attack itself would not do any internal damage but would leave a deep slash if it hit. Other wise if missed he would continue to pass Shuuhei lowly until he was 12 feet behind him. Once he was away from him he would turn lifting his right hand from his pocket. A blood red cero would form on the tip of his finger an then fire out making a loud bang as it did. The beam its self would be the size of a full grown tree. [Continue]

If connected the cero would blow Shuuhei back several feet an cause some damage to the outer half of him. Otherwise if dodging the cero it would travel for half a mile until finally slaming into a tree an causing a mini explosion.

Seeing the slash heading his way it was as though time had slowed down, the threat of injury would always make time a non-existent thing; His heart rate increased a little more than when the fight first began and his eyes widened only for a moment, he knew he had seconds to react or take a direct hit from the blade which in his mind was moving slowly. He had no trouble with being quick enough but the issue was just exactly how to contort his body so that he would take the least amount of damage, wanting to avoid a full blow as he was unsure just how bad the damage would be if it landed like it was intended. When he had a plan he wasted no time in setting it into motion, first he fought his bodies urge to tense up and kept a relaxed form so it was easier to react, next Shuuhei waited untill just the right time before he ducked down a little; The motion making it easier for when he would propel himself into the air to avoid taking a cut on the side, though he did get cut by the blade it didn't run it's full length nor land it's complete strength. The wound he had just obtained was deep but he suspected it wasn't as deep as it was meant to be since he had made an effort to move away from the full force of the blade but that didn't mean it didn't hurt, when the blade cut into his skin he let out a dull hiss of pain but it was quiet so that his enemy didn't hear.

Now that he had dodged the blade Shuuhei shunpoed back from the male to increase the distance, upon hearing the cero fire off he quickly assessed the distance between himself and the blast which was rapidly coming closer; Ultimately seeing that he didn't have enough time to avoid the full blast by simply dodging, so he decided on using a kido, a bakudo to be more specific, to prevent himself from becoming engulfed by the blast. He closed his eyes and held his left hand out in front of him, focusing his reiatsu as he prepared to cast the spell which would protect him."Bakudo #57, Kagehouyou!" He called, though his voice was more a tone which was low and meant only for himself to hear as he didn't wish to alert the enemy of the name of this technique. As soon as the words left his mouth the shadows upon the ground from the things such as the trees and even his own shadow began to stir, quickly they began huddling around the one who had summoned them; The darkness of the shadows quickly bound together untill it was one large mass, that mass then bended and contorted itself until it had formed a sphere around Shuuhei which shielded him from the destructive potential of the cero. He remained in this shell until the cero had dissipated due to the absorption of the bakudo which was how it had saved him from the blast, when he felt confident the worst was over he left the protective bubble and the shadows quickly scurried back to their rightful places and settled back into the ground.

Free of danger for the moment Shuuhei began to think about just what his next move should be, the distance between himself and the other male was about fifteen feet so he had some time to formulate a strategy. He knew he couldn't keep using kido so for now that wasn't an option since he didn't want to drain himself, he might boast a high level of reiatsu but high level spells could drain even the highest level quickly if they were used too much and in a constant secession to one another. So he scanned the man with narrowed, calculating eyes, looking for any spot which was more open on the other male than the rest of his body and that's where he would strike. He knew attacking from behind probably wouldn't work and a straight shot for his chest was the most easily attack that could be dodged or blocked, so in the end of his train of thought he figured a side attack might be the best way to go. So he shifted his weight to his right foot this time and ducked down slightly, he then shot up into the air and shunpoed towards the other man though he wouldn't have known since in his burst of speed he appeared to vanish; He was going to use his weight to his advantage and attempt an attack from the air, reappearing five feet above the male and three feet to his right. Shuuhei cocked his blade back and began free falling rapidly towards Kenshin, his full weight was behind the blade as it came closer and closer to the Espada's body; When he was about a foot away from making contact that's when he swung his blade in a downward slash which if it made contact would start at the underside of the mans arm and end at the middle of his right hip, a deep gash which would be agitated every time Kenshin would move but the attack wouldn't in any way be fatal.

Watching the shadow sphere form around Shuuhei his cero would slam into it causing the cero to stop dead in its tracks. As the Cero vanished he watched as the male begin to study him. As he noticed the male shift his weight an then vanished his violet eyes would scan around his self wondering on where the attack would come from. Sensing the males reiatsu reappear upon his right side he had little time to react before the males full weight had crushed down upon him. So in order to make sure the attack didnt cause to much damage he would release 50% of his reiatsu causing a violet glow around him. Once the blade hit it would cut about half an inch into his skin an then stop from doing anymore damage due to he up the strength of his skin. Once the blade had stopped he would turn his head towards the Captain with a smirk upon his face showing no pain within his facial features but within his mind he was cussing out the Shinigami. Like entity would peak its head through the skin of his right palm. Within seconds it would shot out from his palm almost point blank traveling at a amazing speed towards the Shinigamis left shoulder. Upon reaching only inches away it would open its mouth letting out a hiss. In Seconds if not dodged it would bite onto Shuuhei left shoulder latching itself on. If connected he would grab onto the Metal snake's body in which was still within his palm an sling the Shinigami towards the the ground with a powerful force to knock the air from him.

He saw the snake begin to shoot out and knew he had to act quickly to avoid the damage, so to dodge he quickly shunpoed away from the metal snake and avoided the full damage it might have caused. He was now twenty five feet away from Kenshin, his mind was still looking for away this battle as quickly as possible though it seemed like his opponent wouldn't allow a speedy end. He was going to have to step up his game more and though he didn't like the idea of resorting so early on in the battle to more kido use, he figured it was most likely going to be one of the only ways he could end the fight before his opponent would enter Ressureccion or before he were forced to rely on his last resort. He never wanted to rely on his shikai much less his bankai when it came to a fight, he knew just how much power it carried and he was always afraid of tapping into it; The malicious strength was one which belonged to a spirit who only wished to destroy, he never truly got along with Kazeshini but for the sake of the Soul Society and those he cared for he allowed himself to become closer to that demon so he could gain his bankai and take the captain's position to better be able to lead his squad.

Shuuhei thought, long and hard, before he came to a solution; He held himself in a relaxed stance and focused his spiritual energy as he was preparing to use two kido, one was meant for distraction and to cover his tracks and the other was meant to restrict his opponent. He took a breath before shunpoed towards the other male, wanting to lessen the distance between the two. When he was six feet away he decided now was a good time to use the kido, so he called out in a low tone which was loud enough for only him to hear."Bakudo #21,Sekienton!" As soon as the words left his lips there was a blast, it would do no damage to either party as it wasn't meant to cause destruction. The smoke which lingered after the explosion was thick and it engulfed both men within it's grasp, it was so thick it could hinder one's sight; After the smoke was at a certain point Shuuhei hid his reiatsu and vanished using his shunpo, though his enemy might not have been able to see just what he had done which was exactly what he wanted. Keeping his reiatsu hidden Shuuhei reappeared deep within the dense smoke about three feet behind Kenshin, holding his left hand out in front of him he focused for the bakudo he was planning on using."Bakudo #61, Rikujōkōrō." He uttered softly, his voice was quiet once more so that his enemy would not hear. Once the words left his mouth six thin beams of light began speeding towards Kenshin which if they made contact, would pin the Arrancar in place by slamming into his midsection.
